As school holidays enter the final stretch, your inbox is likely overflowing with hundreds of registration requests for after-school activities.
Somehow you need to work out how to afford swimming, ballet, clarinet AND soccer – and that’s just this term.
Obviously, no one wants their child to miss out - but it seems impossible to pay for everything without taking out a second job.
That's why you need to look into the rebates on offer in every state (listed below with links).
Thankfully, the NSW government is providing some relief for cash-strapped parents – offering cash bonuses to cover the costs of kids’ extra curricular activities.
The Active and Creative Kids programs offer parents the chance to claim $100 per child for activities such as sports clubs, music lessons and language schools.

Both rebates can be accessed all year as long as your child is between four-and-a-half and 18-years-old and enrolled in school.

To get the vouchers, you’ll need to apply online using your MyServiceNSW account.
Be warned that you’ll also need to include your child’s Medicare details - so have your card ready.
Once the vouchers have been issued, give the details to the activity provider for your rebate to be processed.
The Active Kids Rebate has been a success since it was introduced last year – with 390,000 parents claiming the rebate for their kids.
While the Creative Kids Rebate came in on January 1, 2019 - and is an expansion of the existing program.
It offers parents another $100 towards extra-curricular creative activities, including art and drama classes, music classes, foreign language lessons, coding and digital classes every year.
